Plitviče Lakes National Park was by FAR my favorite places I've visited in Croatia.
Plitviče Lakes National Park was by far my favorite place in Croatia. This gem looks untouched by the outside world. We stayed here for two days at Bungalows Korana. Located at Plitvička Jezera, Seliste Dreznicko, 53231, Croatia. This bungalow was very nice & clean inside. The outside was super cute too. It’s located by a campsite so you walk outside to the communal bathrooms. Breakfast was included too!
To get here we took the Flix bus from Split. It was a pretty long ride & then we had to get a taxi to our bungalow. This part of our trip was more expensive but the views were definitely worth it. I would say one to two days here is a good amount of time & also won’t break the bank.
To get to the National Park we took a bus from the campsite to it early in the morning. I always recommend going early when you’re hiking so you aren’t in the heat as long. We also prebought our tickets to the park online (which I recommend doing!!!). There was a long que to buy tickets at the entrance.
Once you get into the park there are a couple different hiking options. An 8 hour, 6 hour or 3 hour hike. We chose the six hour hike so we had time to catch the bus back to our campsite in the evening. We finished our hike pretty early - I think it took only about 3 and a half hours to do. So I recommend just going for the 8 hour hike. Although, some parts of the hike can get really crowded - especially if you go during the summer season (another reason to go hike early).
