When Things Go Wrong

The Ups & Downs of life still happen when you travel!
When backpacking, things inevitably go wrong. You will never be able to prepare for it & it’s ALWAYS an inconvenience. I thought I would be more transparent this year and let you know some of the things that really sucked - even if I've had the best year of my life! Let me give you all some of my top examples :)
Forgetting my wallet in Italy when I traveled to the Canary Islands.
In the span of one week, 1 pair of shoes were stolen, two pairs broke, 5 pairs or underwear ripped/ got holes, my favorite top snapped in half (and the same with my rented surfboard… after my first wave of the day) & I believe ALL of my clothes are stained.
Accidentally booking my hostel 3K away from the train station.
The building next to me going up in flames.. on my birthday - everyone was okay thank God.
Having liquid ass for 3 days in a hostel (actually the worst, sorry to my roomies).
Dropping an air-pod in massive rocks by the sea (no apple store remotely close so I could get a new one). She’s gone forever.
Getting in a motorbike accident my first week driving it & having to take myself to the E.R.
Being violently hungover with zero sleep - while catching 7 different trains from Nice to Venice because the first train broke down for 3 hours.
My suitcase getting destroyed mid travel day.
Learning I have medical problems abroad and trying to work with foreign doctors (a challenge).
Backpacking & living abroad isn’t for the weak! You need to know that some days are just really going to suck & don’t get attached to your things (you don’t really get certain luxuries). But honestly, my experiences are all worth the bad days. I’ve met so many incredible people and seen so many jaw dropping places. Every challenge and obstacle - you will overcome it.
